Togo President Faure Gnassingbe has appointed Judge Abdou Assouma as chairman of the constitutional court, replacing Atsou Kofi Amega, an official source announced here Tuesday.
Assouma, a former state prosecutor and former vice-president of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), has been one of the most influential members of the country's constitutional court.He also previously occupied the post of minister in charge of relations with the armed forces.
