The West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) has loaned Togo 2.59 billion CFA francs to build 300 boreholes that will help meet the drinking water needs of some 75,000 people in the country, official sources affirmed to PANA here Tuesday.
The construction of the boreholes are planned before late this year, the sources explained, adding that agreement for the funding was signed last weekend in Lome by UEMOA Commission chairman, Soumaïla Cissé, and Adji Otèth Ayassorce, minister of budget, finance and privatisation in Togo.
